A former PCSO is set to stand trial and accused of three counts of wilful misconduct in public office.

Gary Carter is accused of acting in an inappropriate and unprofessional manner towards three women whilst he was on duty in Gateshead between 2007 and 2014. The Billingham man is charged with conducting the alleged offences whilst serving as a Police Community Support Officer.

The 48-year-old appeared at Teesside Crown Court on Friday.

Carter, of Allendale Road in Billingham, pleaded not guilty to the charges. Judge Paul Watson scheduled a trial on May 9th, 2023 - the earliest date that the court has available.

Carter was granted unconditional bail until he next appeared in court.
