Former Birmingham Mosque worker charged with child rape and other sexual offences

The offences are alleged to have happened over the past few months.

A former agency worker at a city mosque has been charged with rape and other sexual offences against boys. Said Daauud, 21, from Birmingham, is accused of a string of crimes which allegedly happened over the past few months, police said.


He has been charged with rape, two sexual assaults, assault by touching a boy under thirteen, causing the sexual exploitation of a child and two charges of driving, or inciting a boy under thirteen to engage in sexual activity.


The charges of assault by touching are alleged to have taken place at the Birmingham Mosque, which cannot be named for legal reasons. The other offences are alleged to have happened elsewhere.


Daauud, who no longer works at the mosque, was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning. He was charged last night, May 31st.


A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "He appeared before Walsall Magistrates Court today, where he was remanded in custody to appear before Birmingham Crown Court on June 29th."
